OUTDOOR LEAGUE 2025 RULES AND FORMATS 

 

Shin-guards must be worn, jewelry and watches must be removed.

Parents must be on the opposite side of the field from players and coaches.

No more than three (3) adults on the bench (names and signatures must be included on the game sheet.)

 

Direct and indirect kicks for all divisions. (Goals scored from direct free kicks, kick offs, corner kicks are good goals.)

 

No dribble-ins, just kick-ins (except for mini-soccer –U5 and 6)

 

No retreat line (except for U5/U6s and U7/U8s)

 

Game duration: 2x25 min. for 5v5, 6v6, 7v7, 2x30 min. for 9v9, 2x40 min. in 11v11 games

 

In 5 v 5 division games when a free kick is awarded the defender shell be minimum 3 yards away from the ball,

in 6 v 6 and 7v7 division the 5 yards distance will apply for free kicks,

9v9 is 9 yards,

11 v 11 is 10 yards.  

 

For 5v5, 6v6, and 7v7 games substitutions are allowed “on the fly”.

For 9 v 9 and 11 v 11 games substitutions are allowed at any stoppage, and therefore not “on the fly”.

 

No slide tackles for U10 and under.  However, player can slide or tackle to get the ball if his/her opponent is not close to them / within the playing area and if the action does not jeopardize the safety of an opponent. An example would be to slide to prevent the ball from going out or sliding to score with no opponent within the playing area.

A slide tackle in the penalty area with contact with an opponent made is a penalty kick, without contact is an indirect free kick.
